'Be a better fish' is based in Oswestry in Shropshire. Founders Paul and Claire work in the local community to help create and develop new and small business opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Founder Paul Newman has 30 years experience in business management and leadership.
"Ever wished you could be your own boss ? At Be a better fish we want to make it easier to do so.
Career guidance at a young age encourages getting a job, and working your way up the corporate ladder... to be a small fish, in a big pond! We're here to offer an alternative; to help those of you at the beginning of your working life to start your own business venture. It's never too early!
Of course as we get older, life unfolds and our needs change. For some, a career change, to self-employment or running your own business remains a dream. If this sounds like you, then we'd love to help you realise that dream. It's never too late!
But most of all, we want to create new self-employment opportunities for those living with disadvantage, whether through physical or mental illness, injury or circumstance. We bring together talented individuals to form new businesses, to enable independence and let people's talent shine through. We inspire, create and support this through our Be a better fish Club - connecting new start-ups with local small business owners.
That's our story, and the inspiration behind Be a better fish. If you'd like to like to get involved in some way, or maybe get a little help with your own journey, we'd love to hear from you,
Go on, Be a better fish!
Paul
